About
I’m Michael Bishop. I miss This Is My Jam, a small site from the early 2010s where you picked one song, the one you could not stop playing, and shared it. It closed in 2015.
I still post the songs stuck in my head on Bluesky, usually under the words “latest earworm”. I wanted a reason to learn how apps on Bluesky’s network are built, looked for something like This Is My Jam there, did not find one, and made this.
How it is built
Latest Earworm has no database and no accounts of its own. When you set an earworm, your browser saves it into your own Bluesky account, next to your posts. Your page here reads it back from your account each time someone visits.
That means your earworms are yours. Other apps can read them, you can delete them, and they do not disappear if this site does. The privacy page has the details.
How it was made
Latest Earworm was vibe coded. I did not write its code by hand. Claude Code, Anthropic’s AI coding tool, wrote all of it.
My part was deciding what it should be, making the choices along the way, testing each piece in a browser, and sending it back when it was wrong. Claude also did the research, the visual design, the accessibility checks and the first draft of the words on this site, working from my notes.
I’m saying so plainly because you should know what you are signing in to, and because I would rather tell you than have you wonder. The code is public, at github.com/miklb/latest-earworm.
